Things

Every now and again I wake up with a whole plot for a story in my head. Sometimes, it’s just bits and pieces which are probably remnants of my dream. Sometimes, like today, it’s a feeling that needs to be felt. It expresses itself through words. Those words today are borrowed from the Portuguese and German languages. The first being saudade. It is a beautiful word that means (more or less) a deep emotional longing for something that you never had, may never have, or isn’t possible anymore. The second word, sehnsucht, a strong (almost painful) yearning for something you’ve never fully experienced but deeply crave. Oh, that word…crave. It is such an intense word. Intense but oh so perfect.

I would like to think that my writing truly reflects real aspects of myself. The emotional tone of my writing is usually true of how I feel while writing at least. I have always connected myself that way, although it is not intentional.

I may start to put pieces of my work on here. Not necessarily to share with others (not that anyone else reads this) but to have them all in one piece where they may breathe. Sometimes, seeing it all out together weaves the story better than I could otherwise. We shall see, shan’t we?
